What is considered to be the geographic capital of Islam and is it different for Sunni or Shiite Muslims?

  1. Capital for Sunnis could be considered Cairo though many arguments could be made for other cities and there certainly isn't unanimity. I think the idea of picking Cairo for Obama's speech to the Muslim World was that it is the capital. Everyone thinks of Iran for Shiite so I guess Tehran?

How are you? I hope you are well.

In my opinion We can not consider any country as a capital for Muslim world.
Muslim countries are separated and divided. In order to make a capital for Islamic world, Islamic countries should be one.
This means that we should be a one country to have a one capital.

    Thank you for your consideration

  4. Muslims who follow Allah orders can considered as capital of Islam, this is one of basic rules in Islam that we all one unit.
But if you meant places, there are some important places in Islam (holy), like Maka in Suadia as all Muslims go there to AL-Hag and it also this place that Islam Started from. And in Egypt we have AL-Azhar as one of most important center to Islamic scientists and center for acknowledged information about Islam for Muslims and Non Muslims.
